Brian Hayden

Dr. Brian Hayden is an aquatic ecologist with research interests spanning frozen Arctic lakes to tropical Thai streams. His work focuses on community level responses of fish and invertebrates to environmental stressors such as land use intensification, climate change and biological invasions. Dr. Hayden obtained a PhD from University College Dublin and subsequently conducted post-doctoral research at Queens University Belfast and University of Helsinki before joining UNB in 2014. As Science Director of the Stable Isotopes in Nature Laboratory (SINLAB) at UNB, the oldest stable isotope facility in Atlantic Canada, Dr. Hayden uses Carbon, Nitrogen, Hydrogen and Oxygen stable isotopes to address these issues at research sites across the globe.
